CATIE will connect the industrial base in Antelope Valley and Mojave regions to offer recommendations and assistance with distinct knowledge of space propulsion systems including the following additional services
- CATIE collaborates with educational research institutions to facilitate research opportunities with the Air Force and aerospace industry partners. Promote educational institutions' faculty and research members to team-up for grants and funding opportunities as well as participate in joint publications and public educational seminars. Performing our chosen instructional, research and service tasks to strengthen the greater Antelope Valley industry and educational institutions by contributions and through support of the community and the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL).
- Help making educational and research programs inspirational, nurturing of creativity, and aspiring to contribute to the aerospace engineering, advanced manufacturing, and additive technologies enterprise which will rise to positions of leadership, whether in industry, government, or academia. Support initiatives that will help create a learning and working environment attractive to all who can benefit from research and development by broadening participation and eases transition to college life for entrants and facilitates continuing life-long learning for professionals.
- Facilitate building a physical environment that includes facilities, equipment, and laboratories to materialize quality of essential services that encourage the accomplishment of all educational and research goals and make for a pleasant and personally rewarding workplace. This will help making the research and educational activities facilitate exciting new opportunities that include problems and new methods for their solution as well as constantly evolving content and delivery of training and retraining programs related to aerospace technologies research that is both at the cutting edge and applicable to satisfying societal needs.
- Identify early stage technologies in the academic and industry research environments with potential applications to space and help create pathways for mission infusion and commercialization. Technologies of interest include areas that drive advances in spacecraft such as gas dynamics/efficient engines, Dynamics and Controls for autonomous flight sensing and information processing systems, Structures and Materials for stronger/lighter materials, and Space Systems including electric propulsion systems and small satellites.
- Bridge the gap between small business operations with federal supported aerospace industries including the Air Force Research Laboratory and recommend federal/state funding seed for innovative and sustainable aerospace industry collaboration projects.
- Provide opportunities for innovative research products and applications by networking with aerospace industry leaders to create and deploy robust capabilities for which there is a demonstrated technology need that will advance one or more significant areas in space propulsion and defense systems.
- Provide assistance in industrial planning for the growth of the Mojave region by business and research collaboration with AFRL, Edwards Air Force Base, Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, and Palmdale Regional Airport in the areas of activity flight testing, rocket propulsion, space industry development, and aircraft heavy maintenance.
- Host and conduct events in coordination with the aerospace industry community to explore technology prospectus and establish formal process for early stage funding of identified technologies for prototype and development.
- Create research opportunities between Government, Academic Institutions, and Industry Partners to advance the needs of aerospace industry in the state of California and accelerate the transition of aerospace technologies to the marketplace by connecting ideas, expertise, and partners.
- Support event planning to establish collaboration pathways and approach between the Air Force Research Laboratory, Mojave Air and Space Port, The Spaceship Company, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Aerospace Corporation, Stratolaunch, Virgin Galactic, Boeing, Firefly, Blue Origin, SpaceX, Scaled Composites, Mojave Aerospace Ventures, Space Ventures Coalition, Masten Space Systems, Blue Origin, Aerojet Rocketdyne.
- Create collaboration pathways between California’s higher education institutions, community colleges and industry to develop pipeline of trained aerospace personnel by facilitating research, training programs and internship opportunities.
CATIE is also open to inspiration ideas and services to implement in close collaboration with industry stakeholders, other industry sectors as well as academia. Such areas are not limited to Aerospace Science and technology, Data Management/Analytics, Cybersecurity, and Digital and Business Transformation.
